They come from Puebla, Ricardo studied Film and works as a cartoonist for local newspapers and he is a teacher at the university, he also has made and maintains their movement's website: www.mepamexico.com. Ireri works with children from 6 to 16 years old in Prometeo, one of the first schools in the movement, where Hortensia is the general coordinator.
In Mexico they speak Spanish, but there is a great diversity of original cultures, in which more than 50 languages exist; their movement is growing up and is getting better organized. In this RIDEF there are delegates from Chihuahua, Tabasco, Veracruz, Puebla, Morelos, Estado de Mexico and Mexico City.
Eight geographical groups are part of the Movement for an Alternative Education for the People, MEPA; and they meet on a regular basis. From all those places, they send greetings and hugs to everybody in Nantes.
